Storage of dildos
Storage of your dildo is important in keeping your handheld friend safe, clean and around for a long time. Here are a few important things that you should know about dildo storage:
Don’t
- Store your dildo in direct sunlight. This can lead to fading of colors and even melt the material of some dildos.
- Store dildos in a moist place where they can become a thriving place for bacteria.
- Expose dildos to excessive heat
- Store dildos all together. The materials of some dildos will discolor, stain or leave mildewy looking marks on other dildos. Jelly dildos and Vinyl ones don’t play well together.
- Keep dildos where they can collect dust or animal hair, especially Jelly dildos.
Do
- Store dildos in a dark and dry place
- Store dildos in a drawer between linen, shirts or some soft material
- Store dildos wrapped in a clean lint free hanky
- Store dildos at room temperature
- Store dildos in a toy bag or pouch, a toy pillow, or special toy box. These storage items are usually velvet or some soft material with plush padding on the inside.
There is no such thing as indestructible material, and the makers of dildos know that. The minds behind the toys that keep you happy have designed custom storage for you to keep you dildos in top condition.
Some glass dildos come with toy bags or pouches. Out of all dildo, those made of glass should be stored away from other things in a pouch, bag or pillow to prevent scratches and chips in the material.
Most dildos made of hard materials such as metal, hard plastic and glass can also scratch each other. These materials should be stored alone and wrapped in some soft cloth.
As for every other dildo material, it is safe to place the same kind together (with the exception of Jelly dildos because they stick to each other) in a box, but for best results each should be wrapped separately.
When purchasing a dildo, the next step should be to purchase a cleaner (unless you plan on sterilizing in bleach or boiling water only) and then some sort of storage.
As with all sex toys, choosing a dildo is entirely personal. There is no right or wrong.
When purchasing a dildo, your main criteria should first be width, then length. You can use only part of that 9" dong and still get off, plus you'll need some room at the end to grip.
Width is trickier - its best think about what you like and go from there… if in doubt, start thin and move your way up till you're happy. Also, remember the average erect penis is 5-7 inches long. This should help when comparing measurements.
Dildos provide a feeling of fullness and thrusting that many find very satisfying. Dildos can be used vaginally, anally, even orally. They can be strapped into a harness or used with just a hand. The only caveat: for anal use a dildo must have a wide flared base, so it won't slip in too far to be pulled out. Otherwise, let your imagination be your guide. Pull it in and out, tease yourself with it, do anything that you'd experience with a normal penis.
